The Nurse-Midwives of San Francisco General Hospital - Building Families Together

The Nurse-Midwives of San Francisco General Hospital have cared for women and families during pregnancy, childbirth, and after childbirth since 1975. Having a baby is an important event in the life of a family, and they approach each woman and family as special and unique. Their goal is to help women and their babies stay safe and healthy, to preserve faith in pregnancy and birth as normal parts of life, and to prepare families for the many changes that lie ahead. La Clínica de la Raza – School-Based Health Centers

La Clínica de la Raza's mission is to improve the quality of life of the diverse communities they serve by providing culturally appropriate, high quality, and accessible health care for all. Healers of the Maya

Four years in the making, "Healers of the Maya" is a documentary that takes the audience inside a community that most of the Western world believes to have vanished a millennium ago. Featuring beautifully shot footage of healing ceremonies, and interviews with the healers and their patients in the Mayan language, "Healers of the Maya" is a compelling, unique film. Produced and Directed by José Gutiérrez.

These pieces were designed to deliver inspirational kernels of wisdom in a short, web-friendly format and to motivate viewers to shift to a higher perspective. Guide to Healthy Living for Hispanics “Si nos queremos tanto…”

A 40 minute docudrama designed to educate Latinos about the dangers of diabetes, high blood pressure and high cholesterol. This empowering film features Latino celebrities such as Ricardo Montalbán, José José and Olga Guillot. Hosted by María Elena Salinas, Univision’s national news anchor at the time. Produced for Pfizer, Inc. in cooperation with LCG Bienestar.


Me Muero Por Fumar

I’m Dying for a Smoke is a 30 minute smoking cessation video created in Spanish for the Latino community. Through a combination of drama and documentary, this program successfully conveys the hard facts about tobacco use and an effective method for quitting in an entertaining and humoristic way. This video received the highest commendation from the Department of Health Services. Produced for the California Department of Health Services in collaboration with La Familia


Centering Pregnancy – Building Community Through Prenatal Care

Centering Pregnancy is a prenatal care model offered by the by the Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital division of Ob/Gyn. It combines pregnancy assessments with education and social support in a group format, with time allotted for one-on-one interaction as needed. CenteringPregnancy honors the cultural backgrounds of participants and encourages discussion, the building of relationships, and a sense of community and shared purpose. The video focuses on the CenteringPregnancy program offered by the Nurse-Midwives of San Francisco General Hospital.

Heart to Heart Global Cardiac Care – Latin America

Heart to Heart is a network of advanced cardiac specialists and program development experts who work together as volunteers to develop new self-sustaining regional children’s heart centers where thousands of children born with heart defects can undergo life-saving treatment. This video, shot in Torreon, Mexico, focuses on the organization’s efforts to create pediatric cardiac care centers in Latin America. Produced by Adam Neville. La Clínica de la Raza – Creating a Dental Home for Special Needs Patients

The Dental Clinic at UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital Oakland has been operating under La Clínica’s management since 2003 and currently serves 5,778 patients per year. The program specializes in serving pediatric patients with special health care needs by providing comprehensive, one-stop dental care for this underserved population. The video was produced by Ad Infinitum Films as part of a fundraising effort
